From 1 April 2025, New Zealand’s minimum wage rates will increase. Employers and employees should be aware of the new rates and prepare for the changes.
New minimum wage rates:
- Adult minimum wage: increasing from $23.15 to $23.50 per hour
- Starting-out and training minimum wage: increasing from $18.52 to $18.80 per hour
All figures are before tax and lawful deductions (e.g., PAYE, student loans, child support).
